Former Stamford High School running back Marcus Dixon (1) greets former Westhill quarterback Adler Florian (7) during pregame introductions at the Hall of Fame Classic in Fairfield on Friday night.

The hand shake above between arch-rivals Marcus Dixon and Adler Florian might have been the highlight of the night for the Fairfield County squad which was beaten rather handily by the New Haven team in the 2009 Hall of Fame Classic in Fairfield.

The Fairfield County team fumbled on the first play from scrimmage and New Haven scored a few plays later. By halftime, it was 36-0 and the rout was on.

Trinity Catholic’s Nick Cortese also took part in the game at running back along with Dixon while Florian was a defensive back.
