The numbers were mighty impressive: 499 total yards with running backs Nick Cortese (257 yards, 4 TDs), Mike Rivas (119 yards, 1 TD pass caught) and Vince Carter (93 yards), leading the way. And let’s not forget QB Steve Scalero, who threw a pair of 21-yard TD passes, one to Revis, one to RJ Calo.
Trinity’s offense, held in check by Darien (Obviously an FCIAC contender in lieu of Saturday’s win over Greenwich) during Week 1, exploded in Week 2 as the Crusaders took their first step in the City Championship series with a huge 46-18 win over cross-city rival Westhill on Saturday afternoon.

While the Crusaders definitely walked off the field with their heads held high, Westhill went back to the drawing board for the second week in a row. After a strong first half against Danbury in its season opener, the Vikings have put together six inconsistent quarters since.
Up next for each team: Trinity Catholic is at Fairfield Ludlowe on Friday while Westhill plays Platt Tech.
